Itinerary

Day 1

Cairo to Alexandria Sightseeing

Early pick up from your Hotel in Cairo by our Egypt Today Tours Tours Representative who will escort you by a private air conditioned vehicle to the port city of Alexandria ( approximately 3 hours) with a short rest stop along the way. On arrival you will be met by an expert Egyptologist Tour Guide for your unique tour of Ancient Alexandria, located 220km Northwest on the Mediterranean coast. A stunning and scenic full day tour to experience the highlights of Ancient Greco- Roman Alexandria visiting the Catacombs of Kom El Shoukafa, and the Royal Cemetery of Kom El-shoqafa, a  historical archaeological site and considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages. Pompey's Pillar, a Roman triumphal column, is one of the best-known ancient monuments still standing in Alexandria today, and it is the last of the remaining relics of the Seraphim. The Pillar was erected in honor of Emperor Diocletian. Lunch will be served at good quality restaurant during the day then you will continue on to visit the Citadel of Qaitbay, built on the ruins of the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria by Sultan Al-Ashraf Sayf al-Din Qaitbay. You will visit the large and famous Alexandria Library, reconstructed by building the new library in Selsela at Shatby Which is beside the conference centre. The library is one of the greatest cultural and scientific centres that specialize in the affairs of, literature, civilization, sciences and arts of the area so this attract scholars from all over the world. Finally you will be escorted by your guide and transported to your Hotel in Alexandria for an overnight stay and free leisure time to look around the lovely City of Alexandria.

Day 2

Alexandria Diving - Cairo

Your day 2 adventure will be an exciting underwater adventure unlike any you have seen before. After breakfast, your Egypt Today Tours Representative will collect you from your Hotel in Alexandria  and escort you by a private air conditioned vehicle to the Dive Centre, you will be equipped with your diving essentials ( wet suits, belts, tanks and masks). Your dive will begin at 11.00am until 14.30pm when you will be taken by boat to your dive site to two unique locations known as ‘Cleopatra’s Palace Underwater City’ and Pharaoh’s Island, the latter having a depth of 10 metres with 8000 archeological pieces to discover. Cleopatra’s palace dive site hosts a depth of 6 metres and has 3000 archeological pieces including a World War 2 plane wreck along with a Greco Roman wreck at a depth of 15 metres. Your are free to explore the underwater ocean floor and see ancient treasures lying on the ocean bed unmoved and kept there as reminders of a lost empires. After your wonderful diving experience, lunch will be served in a nice local restaurant then you will be transferred back to your Hotel in Cairo by your air conditioned vehicle.
